oogle has recently launched a feature that lets you use their Gemini AI chatbot with your Gmail account. Users can ask questions about their inbox
on the web and now this feature will be coming also for mobile devices. Google says that their Gmail Q&A feature will be launched first for Android users, and soon it will be available also for iOS devices.
Users can now ask Gmail Q&A different questions regarding their inbox or to find a specific thing in some emails. “You can ask Gemini questions about your inbox or do things like find specific details in your emails, show you unread messages, view messages from a specific sender, or summarize emails about a topic in your inbox,” Google stated in their blog post.
“Catch me up on the emails about quarterly planning.” , “How much did the company spend on the last marketing event?” These are just two examples of questions that users will be able to ask.
This feature can be useful for those who want a way to filter their emails to find something that is lost in the inbox. The important thing to know is that this new feature is not available for everyone.
You will need to be subscribed to Google One AI Premium or have a Google Workspace Plan with the Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium add-ons.
A search feature was available before, the traditional search bar, that helped you to find information in your Gmail. It will not go away, but this new Gemini button will appear next to the search bar to offer a new way of searching through inbox. This change is part of Google's idea to make almost everything shift to AI.
With the fast development of these generative Artificial Intelligence tools, keep in mind that you need to always double-check the information that is coming from the Gemini. Sometimes, these tend to give you information that is not always true or is just partially correct.

We don't know if the Gmail Q&A will provide a free version for Gmail users shortly. As an alternative, Google tries to push features like this to be able to convince its users that their expensive subscription is worth it.
The company is planning to add Gemini AI to all its existing products, including Google Docs, Google Calendar, and more, but they will certainly need a payment to be used.
