pple just launched via a press release the new iPad Mini, which is the first upgrade for this tablet since its first release in 2021. This Wednesday,
Apple announced that they will launch a new generation of iPad Mini with many AI features and tools including Siri assistant and some writing tools.
It is unusual for Apple to release a device or just an upgrade for an existing one with just a press release and not an Apple event. But according to some rumors, the iPhone maker might launch some new and impressive devices in the next Apple event. We don’t know yet the exact date of this next Apple event, but it is possible to see some new devices by the end of the year.
This upgrade comes in a period when the iPhone maker wants to upgrade and boost all its devices with capabilities powered by artificial intelligence. But this new mini iPad is a specifications upgrade rather than a major design improvement.
iPad will run with the new A17 Pro chip, with almost 30% more performance in CPU, and 25% more in GPU along with a Neural Engine twice as fast as the last model. Also, it will run on Apple's Intelligence and the first features will be available in the U.S. version starting this month via a software update of iPadOS 18.1.
Apple said in their press release that, all these new features will be also available on other iPads with the A17 Pro or M1 chips. Also, the iPhone maker will launch in the next months of new features such as image-generation tools, Genmoji, or ChatGPT-powered capabilities.

The good news is that the new Apple iPad will support the new Apple Pencil Pro, which represents a perfect addition for all artists and will have more storage than ever, coming with 128GB of storage for the base model compared with 64GB in the previous model.
Apple also introduced two new gorgeous colors in the design change since a lot of Apple devices are coming in colorful finishes, so the new Apple iPad has now a purple and blue finish. The price for the mini iPad starts at $499 and it’s already up for preorder and will go on sale starting next Wednesday.
The iPhone maker also made some updates for the rest of the iPad lineup recently and added a more powerful M2 chip on the iPad Air, made a redesign for the iPad Pro line, and also lowered the price for the base model to $349.
We are just curious if in the next Apple event, the iPhone maker plans to launch a new iPad mini 7 or if this upgrade is just the only upgrade for this model that we will see in the next years.
Until then, stay tuned for more updates about the next Apple event or maybe the next Apple launch.
