As Bloomberg reported, Apple was in talks with Meta in the same period when the tech company was looking for partnerships. Apple was more interested in different integrations for their news mode and was, looking into other possibilities. Yet, the idea of Apple and Meta collaborating was put away as privacy concerns were raised over the social media conglomerate.
Even more so, from an image perspective, apple would not have been going in the right direction as they have criticized the social media network company multiple times. Those critiques were regarding Meta’s privacy policy and their practices for protecting them.
However, this month, Apple also introduced new features to their software. Their latest release came with new AI integrations under the name of Apple Intelligence. Their partner is Opne’s AI solution – ChatGPT. ChatGPT will be available for users on special tasks, helping them with better and faster solutions.
The integration of ChatGPT also led to a significant outbreak from Elon Musk, who did not appreciate this event. Elon Musk threatened to ban Apple products from its companies as a result of the collaboration between the companies.
However, the integration of Open’s AI ChatGPT is still not sure, as Apple has discussed accepting different AI models on its devices and software. At their latest event, WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference), the tech giant also discussed integrating Google’s Gemini solution.
It is also worth mentioning that even though Apple will not move forward with the partnership between them and Meta, they will still rely on Meta’s app stack (Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger). This Monday, the social media company released its AI chatbot to India's biggest market.
