social media app. To deliver a solution to all these problems, apps such as BlueSky and X (formerly Twitter) seized the opportunity of this TikTok ban and introduced new alternative features.
So, X and BlueSky social media apps have revealed new features for their users, including video feeds for content, which are planned to be a good alternative to TikTok’s video content. Both Bluesky video and X video feeds are specially designed to make it easier for users to watch video content in a vertical layout.
“We had to get in on the video action too,”, as BlueSkay stated about the new video feed feature.
In the BlueSky social app, users are able to swipe up and down in the feed to watch videos and are also allowed to create specific feeds to watch video content made for certain hashtags. So, users can make dedicated feed tags in order to watch video content about their hobbies and other favorite things.
“Like any other feed, you can choose to pin these or not,”, the Bluesky company stated in a post.|
Same as the Bluesky social app, X (formerly Twitter) has introduced Sunday a Video tab for users in the U.S. territory, that can be accessed directly in the navigation bar. The Video tab is represented by a circular play button placed between the notifications and Grok icons.
“From there, you can explore a personalized feed of recommended videos reflecting the real-time nature of X across sports, entertainment, news and more,”, X stated in the official announcement.
We can say that various social media platforms are trying to release new TikTok alternatives in order to draw more attention and users to their apps. Also, Instagram revealed recently Edits, a new video editing app planned to be officially launched in March. Based on the revealed features and capabilities, Edits is expected to be a market competitor to the popular CapCut also owned by ByteDance. CapCut faced troubles similar to TikTok and other ByteDance-owned platforms due to the fact that these have the same Chinese owner.
