The video game Ghost of Tsushima can not be played without being linked to a PlayStation network. The video game Ghost of Tsushima will be released on 16th May 2024 and some problems have already been signaled about the game. If you pre-ordered the PC part of the video game Ghost of Tsushima and you are situated in a country that doesn’t have access to the PlayStation Network, then your order has already been canceled.
People from countries that do not have access to PlayStation Network were notified this weekend that they will receive a refund for the video game purchase. GMG (Green Man Gaming), Steam, and Epic started canceling all the orders and refunding their clients after realizing that countries and regions that do not have access to the PlayStation Network will not be able to play the video game.
Initially, the single-player mode of the video game Ghost of Tsushima was marketed as a game available for all players around the world. The multiplayer mode is the one that requires access to a PlayStation Network (PSN). However, starting this weekend, video game enthusiasts who do not have access to the PlayStation Network received emails letting them know that a refund will be waiting for them:
Due to an issue beyond our control, you will be receiving a refund for your pre-purchased video game. Stating that the specific region is restricted from the creation of a PlayStation Network account (PSN).
All of this happened only a few weeks apart from the Helldivers 2 disaster, where players were notified by Sony that a PlayStation Network (PSN) would be required to link their Helldivers 2 video game account. The worst part is that Helldivers 2 was already available for being in non-PSN areas for nearly three months.
Sony hasn’t stated anything about the Ghost of Tsushima event, as the game was delisted in nearly 170 countries that do not have PSN gaming options. However, the game will be launching on May 16th.
