The Google AI image generator feature can be accessed on Google’s AI Test Kitchen and is presumed to generate images with “better detail, richer lighting, and fewer distracting artifacts”, in comparison to Google’s former models.
Google first declared its updated Imagen 3 feature during I/O in May, but it only seems to have made the tool generally accessible through its Vertex AI platform during the past several days. However, some Reddit users began testing the AI picture generator last week, and Google released a study paper on the tool on Tuesday.
Same as other AI picture generator tools, Google AI image generator Imagen 3 can develop elaborate images derived from your prompt. The user is also able to modify the image by enhancing a certain section and explaining what wants to be changed.
However, the Google AI image generator has some limitations, as it will refuse to create images of public persons, like Taylor Swift. It will also decline to create images of weapons. In addition, Imagen 3 will avoid generating named copyrighted characters, users can avoid that by describing the character they want to produce.
So far, it looks like the responses to the AI photo generator Imagen 3, have been varied. Multiple users have noted that Imagen 3 appears to be much more sensitive to the given prompts than before. This version of the feature censors words that wouldn’t been obstructed by the previous Google AI image generator Imagen 2.
As an example, one Reddit user said: “Really have to put in extra work to achieve what I used to get and a random word like “sock” or “water” will trigger the censorship filter which is far more sensitive to benign words.” On the other hand, the same user said there are positive aspects too, such as its high-quality resulted images and “amazing texture and word recognition.”
Other users declared that they managed to make the AI image generator tool create images that are similar to characters such as Sonic, Mario, and Mickey Mouse. Imagen 3 can also generate logos of famous companies like Apple, Marcy’s, Hershey’s, and even Google.
Despite this flexible obstructing policy, the AI photo generator Imagen 3 still strongly contrasts with Grok, the AI picture generator that can be found on Elon Musk’s X platform. Grok has been utilized to create all kinds of “wild” content, including images with more sensitive content.
However, other Google AI picture generator tools have faced some matters as well. Previously this year, Google banned people from generating images with its Gemini AI chatbot after they discovered that it was used to create historically inaccurate images.
