track with data center market shares. At the latest event, Intel also announced that their Gaudi 3 artificial intelligence accelerator chips will benefit from lower prices than their rivals and the top AI Chips companies.
Intel has been one of the biggest innovation companies ever since 1968. Intel’s purpose is to bring forward solutions for technological advancements, and for more than 50 years, Intel has created a space where technology can grow. The tech company has the power to scale and gather all the necessary resources to drive society forward and inspire others to achieve new milestones in the tech industry.
With the launch of its sixth generation of Xenon chips, Intel is looking forward to growing its data center market shares, as it has been losing since the development of Advanced Micro Devices.
Consequently, Intel’s shares in the data center market have lowered by 5.6%, reaching 76.4%. However, Intel’s share drop helped AMD hold 23.6% of the data center market. AMD's growth is also favored by the stutter Intel’s manufacturing process encountered, allowing Intel to profit from the situation.
Intel’s new server processor - Xenon 6, comes in two models: a large one that has a bigger power of processing data and an “efficiency” model that is a replacement for previous models of chips. The release of the latest data processing models will now offer the opportunity to use fewer server racks and still deliver a more efficient solution.
Par Gelsinger, the Chief Executive of Intel, said at Computex, “Simply put, performance up, power down”. The new models now have the power to perform computations that are mandatory for complex AI models and other tasks that require more horsepower. The “efficiency” model will be available this Tuesday, whereas the “performance” model will be available in the third quarter.
Even more so, the Gaudi 3 accelerator Kit will include eight AI chips and cost around $125.000, with the previous generation being priced at $65.000. The price range offered by the tech giant will have the power to crush the competition and remain one of the top companies in the market.
