Some of the users even began to speculate and post on their LinkedIn accounts claiming that this LinkedIn bug is determined by a company's decision to clean the fake or inactive accounts. While others tried to offer advice and solutions to LinkedIn members to keep their accounts available.
After some time when everybody tried to say their idea on this issue, LinkedIn made an announcement later in the day that stated that the company looked over the problem and solved it. The downside of this announcement is that the social media platform did not offer more in-depth information about what happened.
So, the social media platform stated in an X post “We heard some members may have seen a change in their connection and follower count. Our team quickly looked into this. We’re happy to report this has now been resolved.”
Users demanded some additional explanation from the LinkedIn platform, but they refused to give one and chose to draw their attention to the Status Page. On that page, they admitted that the social media network has been experiencing some issues with the follower count, and it remains to be investigated later in the day. By Tuesday afternoon, LinkedIn network pronounced the LinkedIn bug resolved.
Given the fact that the LinkedIn network is based on building up some relationships and relevance in the industry, the idea of losing followers is terrifying for those users who rely on their profiles and accounts to promote themselves.
However, it is still unusual that LinkedIn chose to confirm the problem on their X account and didn’t make an official account on their page. Until now, the X account LinkedIn hasn’t been updated since May last year, so users have the right to think if this was indeed just a “bug” or was determined by a LinkedIn initiative.
