ccording to the latest social media news, Meta and Spotify music app are probing a deeper music incorporation in Meta’s Instagram app. Rumors suggest
that the two giant companies are experimenting with a feature that allows users to constantly share what music they’re listening to using Instagram’s Notes.
The upcoming functionality was initially detected by the reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi, who frequently identifies upcoming types of social feature while they’re still in progress.
Despite that, companies like Meta and Spotify music app are constantly developing some sort of new social feature, so the news does not certainly indicate that the option will be released to the public soon.
Paluzzi posted a screenshot on Meta Threads, showing the alleged social feature that will enable users to “continuously share” their songs, contrary to choosing a song from the Instagram record. He also said that “you can stop sharing at any time.”

If the option is released after all, it will complete another Instagram feature which was launched about a year ago, that enables users to share 30-second song videos to Notes.
The Instagram Notes section was incorporated in 2022 and it permits users to share their current status or other short updates in a message that can be seen right over their Instagram inbox.
Instagram said at the time of its initiation that the Notes song clips element has been endorsed in markets all across the globe, where Instagram owns music licensing rights.
An Instagram and Spotify music app alliance could automatize these types of song uploadings, supplying Instagram with content even while users are actively scrolling on another social media app.
The social feature reminds of the social networking activity that’s presently accessible on the Spotify music app. Spotify also enables users to connect with Meta’s Facebook and watch what friends are streaming in an individual tab on its app’s interface.
There have also been other clues of Meta-Spotify collaboration. Technologist Chris Messina declared for the mass media that a couple of weeks ago, Instagram had included the “SpotifyiOS.framework” element into its app.
However, this is not the first time Meta and Spotify music app have partnered up. Back in 2021, the two companies collaborated on a new social feature that included a mini-player on Meta’s Facebook, that streamed Spotify straight from the app.
The two giants are also currently sharing a mutual opponent in Apple. Both the music app Spotify and Meta think that Apple’s App Store dominance obstructed them from controlling their in-app remunerations, demanding them to share their app earnings with Apple through commissions applied on acquisitions.
