Another influential tech company is Apple. They rejected the observer role on the OpenAI Board. This came after last month's announcement to bring chatbot ChatGBT to their devices. Apple refused to respond to further declarations after the sudden dismissal.
EU regulators are building a case that could lead to an investigation. The investigation would look into the partnership between Microsoft and the OpenAI board. Last month, antitrust regulators said the collaboration would not fall under the bloc’s merger rules. This is because Microsoft does not control OpenAI. But, they will seek third-party opinions on the exclusivity clauses in the agreement.
