The company operates the generative AI chatbot ChatGPT. This move aligned with Microsoft’s goals. They include opportunities listed on Microsoft Careers. The Microsoft jobs are in AI and innovative technology.
However, Microsoft gave up its observer seat at openAI. This was due to the startup’s new partnerships, innovation, and growing customer base. These changes took place after Altman's return.
The observer seat, and Microsoft’s more than $10 billion investment in OpenAI, raised concerns among antitrust regulators across Europe, the UK, and the US about the extent of Microsoft's influence over OpenAI.
Another influential tech company is Apple. They rejected the observer role on the OpenAI Board. This came after last month's announcement to bring chatbot ChatGBT to their devices. Apple refused to respond to further declarations after the sudden dismissal.
EU regulators are building a case that could lead to an investigation. The investigation would look into the partnership between Microsoft and the OpenAI board. Last month, antitrust regulators said the collaboration would not fall under the bloc’s merger rules. This is because Microsoft does not control OpenAI. But, they will seek third-party opinions on the exclusivity clauses in the agreement.
OpenAI and Microsoft jobs involve selling AI technology. They compete to boost profits and prove autonomy to antitrust regulators. Additionally, Microsoft is extending its AI insights on the Azure platform.
Microsoft careers are growing. As they are adding Inflection's CEO to run the AI department. This is a way to add diversity outside OpenAI.
