vidia has finally revealed its new generation of graphics cards after months of speculations at the CES 2025 technology event.
So, at the tech conference, Nvidia launched the new GeForce RTX 5000 series, with a top-tier product, the flagship RTX 5090.
After various announcements from AMD and even Intel, Nvidia's giant chip maker managed to fulfill all tech enthusiasts' wishes and announced the new and improved series of graphics cards with impressive artificial intelligence capabilities among others.
Priced at $1,999, the new Nvidia RTX 5090 is considered to bring to its consumers a lot of capabilities and features such as next-gen Tensor Cores, Ray Tracing cores with 92 billion transistors, and a double processing speed compared with the previous RTX 4090 model. It is believed that the new GeForce RTX 5090 will be the most powerful graphics card ever made for consumer use. Besides the impressive GPU specs, the RTX 5090 has 32GB of GDDR7 VRAM and a huge 512-bit memory bus. Also, it has a PCIe 5.0 x16 interface, which makes it able to deliver a remarkable 1792 GB/s of memory bandwidth along with memory speed that exceeds 23.8 Gbps.
Judging from the specs that Nvidia revealed, this new graphics card with be able to support 4K resolution gaming at high settings or maybe even 8K if the company will allow it after launch.
In the same announcement, the company revealed another graphics card, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080, planned to be available for purchase later this month along with its more powerful predecessor. Based on the specs, this RTX 5080 seems specially designed to be the half for the RTX 5090. It also has a new GDDR7 VRAM but with 16GB of 256-bit memory, providing about 960 GB/s of memory bandwidth. It should be mentioned that the fast 30 Gbps memory speed is able to compensate for the limited memory bus. Priced at $999, the new RTX 5080 graphics card will be available for users starting on January 21st.
The last products in Nvidia’s announcement were the RTX 5070 along the RTX 5070 Ti, which are considered to be midrange products for the market. Even though Nvidia didn’t reveal further details about these two midrange graphics cards, the company stated that the RTX 5070 Ti offers 1,406 AI TOPS compared with the RTX 5070 which provides only 988 TOPS.
Judging based on the VRAM, the RTX 5070 Ti has the same specs as the RTX 5080 with a 16GB GDDR7 and a 28 Gbps memory speed on a 256-bit bus. On the other side, the RTX 5070 has only 12GB of GDDR7 at 672 GB/s. it is important to mention that Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 along with RTX 5070 Ti will be available for purchase in early February with pricing starting from $549 for the base model and $749 for the Ti model.
