Say goodbye to a world with boring chatbots, and welcome to the latest OpenAI update on GPT-4o. Ever since its launch in 2022, ChatGPT has never shown any suggestion that it is more than a chatbot when it comes to its emotionless responses. However, things are about to change when it comes to ChatGPT. Its creators just announced the latest version of the chatbot, which will not be capable of more human-like responses.
ChatGPT-4o will now be capable of snappier responses, simulation of natural language, and conversation between humans, and will even be capable of displaying simulated emotions and reactions. Based on OpenAI’s Monday demonstration, GPT-4o will be a game changer for ChatGPT, as it will be transformed into a personal assistant. The chatbot will simulate human behavior and can even engage in spoken conversations in real-time. With its latest update, the digital assistant will now be able to respond with more than just text but also simulate vision. The new “vision” feature will allow ChatGPT to see screenshots, analyze documents and photos, and give its opinions and responses based on those media.
Even more so, ChatGPT-4o will have the ability to translate live conversations, as their demonstration showed. Mira Murati, the Chief Technology Officer of OpenAI, also stated that ChatGPT-4o will have memory capabilities and it will have the ability to learn from previous conversations and offer personalized responses for their needs.
During their live demo, Mira Murati stated: “This is the first time that we are really making a huge step forward when it comes to the ease of use,(...)” , making ChatGPT the most advanced artificial intelligence digital assistant. Also stating that: “This interaction becomes much more natural and far, far easier.”.
In their live demo, it was also demonstrated how ChatGPT-4o is now able to solve real-time problems such as math problems, tell bedtime stories, and offer better coding advice. ChatGPT is now able to even sing and respond in both human-sounding voice and robot voice. ChatGPT's human-like behavior was able to help one of the members from the demonstration calm down based on their breathing pattern.
The CEO, Sam Altman, stated, “It feels like AI from the movies, and it’s still a bit surprising to me that it’s real. Getting to human-level response times and expressiveness turns out to be a big change.”.
All those new updates will be available to paying and non-paying users in the next months, the paying users continuing to “have up to five times the capacity limits”.
