quality and a lossless audio format.
As of 2024, the music streaming app has not released a high-end subscription. Yet subscribers are waiting to listen to a better quality version of their favorite songs. “There’s a good subset of that group of 246 million subscribers that want a much better version of Spotify”, the CEO Daniel Ek said.
The CEO of Spotify offered some details about this new Spotify Music audio plans after a company earnings call this Tuesday. We know that the development it’s still “in the early days" after three years since Spotify announced this idea for the first time.
According to the CEO of Spotify, Daniel Ek, the new audio plans offer a better version of Spotify Music with a $5 increase in the current premium plan which now costs $11.99 per month. ”Think something like $5 above the current premium tier. So it’s probably around a $17 or $18 price point, but sort of a deluxe version of Spotify that has all of the benefits that the normal Spotify version has”, the CEO stated.
For almost $20 per month, Spotify Music has raised expectations to launch something new and innovative. Other music streaming apps have offered hi-fi audio streaming for a long time without extra cost. Apple Music had lossless audio and spatial audio Dolby Atmos since 2021 with no additional cost. Same with Amazon Music which offers higher-resolution music as part of the standard subscription plan.
From recent reports, it is expected that, besides the hi-fi audio streaming, to be launched other features like advanced library management, a powered playlist by Artificial Intelligence, and headphone sound optimization.
We don’t know yet when Spotify Music will launch their new audio plans but surely the HI-FI Spotify Music Plan will be launched later this year, as the CEO stated for Bloomberg.
The music lovers are now a few months away from experiencing the new subscription plan. Stay tuned for more updates!
