et’s face it – smart devices are taking over our lives. Nowadays, we have smart alternatives for everything and, more recently, even when it comes to home fitness.
But this time, it is not your usual gym smart equipment. Rather, it is in the form of a mirror. We found it quite weird as well, don’t worry!
But these workout mirrors aren’t just smart. They can teach us entire classes from the commodity of our homes. And, for the ones out here who switched to home workouts, these workout mirrors are the update you need to your dumbbells. These workout mirrors come with an interactive feature that keeps you motivated and excited about your home workout sessions. It can’t replicate face-to-face interactions (actually, it can, but only with yourself), but it’s still a great alternative for those who do not have enough time to go to the gym or don’t require human interaction to get their physical activity going.
So, this nifty piece of equipment might appear to be an ordinary mirror at first glance, but it’s actually a smart digital platform designed to provide a wide range of workout classes.
Believe it or not, the new technology has the possibility to monitor our moves while we work out to make sure that we’re doing our exercises correctly – just like a professional coach would!
These smart mirrors offer access to a wide range of classes, from fitness workouts to yoga lessons and even kickboxing routines. Additionally, extensions are available for those who enjoy weightlifting. This innovative equipment not only teaches us how to make each movement correctly but also guides us on how to maintain the correct posture, resulting in effective and productive workout sessions. And the best part? No more tiresome commutes to the gym. Let’s be honest – a lot of us hate those trips, especially if we do not own a personal vehicle.

Even more so, if you have a busy schedule - hitting the gym seems impossible.
Getting ready, going there, returning from the gym, and getting ready for work, takes a lot more time than it should. And let’s not forget energy! So, a home workout can be more time-efficient, as it can be done when you feel like it - without pressure. But, if you believe that without an instructor you won’t be able to improve your physical posture, or you think that a home mirror workout is just not as effective as the classes you are used to going to, let me tell you otherwise. A smart workout mirror can become your best friend - as it can act as a personal trainer. Of course, without the social part, but it will still do the job if you’re committed to bettering yourself.
Smart mirror vs. traditional gyms. Which is better, cost-wise?
Well, the cost of a smart mirror may differ. A Lululemon workout mirror starts at $1,496, but with the $700 discount that Lululemon is offering, the Lululemon workout mirror will become just $795. In addition to this, you will need to pay a $39 subscription for the Lululemon workout mirror, where you can access all the workouts. If we’re being real, that subscription is more or less the same as the gym membership in some cases - but you’ll still have to pay for the Lululemon workout mirror. Of course, there are also some cheaper alternatives such as the “Echelon Reflect”. And as you might expect - some more expensive ones are available as well - FORME Studio is one of them. But we’ll stick to our first pick - which we believe is the most balanced - price-wise, and feature-wise and that’s Lululemon.
But, if you prefer to do your workout at your own pace and without having to commute to a gym, the new technology it’s definitely worth it. This is where a smart mirror can help you achieve your goal of staying active while being in the comfort of your own home. So, we no longer need to feel insecure when going to the gym, it’s a dream come true.
And look - a smart mirror is an excellent method to stay motivated since it uses new technology and has the ability to deliver real-time feedback on your progress and helps you to tailor your training program to your specific needs. Furthermore, it allows you to measure your progress over time, allowing you to stay accountable and ensure you don't lose sight of your fitness goals. And now you won't have to worry about congestion, scheduling difficulties, or paying for overpriced gym subscriptions.
Don’t worry about how it will look! It will fit with your interior design, and it’s easy to use. But keep in mind it’s pretty heavy, and you might need a friend to help you move it around the house safely.
The smart mirror also can be synced with Bluetooth devices like heart rate monitors, Apple watches, or Android watches, and also to speakers. Some mirrors can be controlled via touchscreen, and for some, you need your phone to manage them. And the best part is - Once you set it up, you will have over 10.000 workouts available. So, we will never get bored by a workout ever again. You can even set up a routine with the mirror workout that will include different exercises like cardio, stretching, and strength training - all packed up with visual and audio instructions to make sure that you’re doing everything right.
A smart mirror would be an excellent fit for individuals who enjoy taking classes and switching things up in their routines. However, for those who may be uncertain about the investment, it’s worth noting that many products offer a complimentary trial period to aid in the decision-making process. And it’s better to go this way - since you might find out that working out with a smart mirror is not for you.
We know, we listed a lot of benefits here - but it’s critical to keep in mind that they all apply on a case-by-case basis. For me, it works better than going to the gym - since I always find it hard to find the motivation to do so. If you can relate - then it might work for you too - but again, we cannot say 100%. Still, it's worth a shot - who knows, you might find yourself saying "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fittest of them all?"
