nited States Cellular also known as USM.N said this Thursday that they have agreed on selling a portion of the spectrum licenses that are used in order
to transmit mobile phone signals and high-speed data services to AT&T, reported Reuters.
The deal will reach $1.02 Billion, the transaction being part of the regional wireless carrier’s strategy to start monetizing its spectrum assets that initially were not part of the initial deal with T-Mobile.
US Cellular started the agreement with T-Mobile in May, allowing them to sell a great part of the wireless procedures, and 30% of the spectrum assets were valued at $4.4 billion.
Even more so, last month, US Cellular agreed to sell some of the spectrum licenses to Verizon for $1 billion. Yet, Laurent Therivel, the CEO of US Cellular said that the latest agreement “adds a fourth mobile network operator, in addition to T-Mobile, to the list of those whose subscribers will benefit from the sale of our spectrum licenses,".
