icrosoft has modernized the Windows Hello authentication, with facial and fingerprint recognition improvements, in Windows 11 . The new UI design for Windows
Hello authentication is only in beta testing for now in Windows Insider. Also, it comes with visual changes, new iconography, and updates for passkeys. The Windows Hello new interface design will appear on the Windows 11 lock screen and also when users are typing the passkeys to sign in to various websites and apps. “We redesigned Windows security credential user experiences for passkey creating a cleaner experience that supports secured and quick authentication. Users will now be able to switch between authentication options and select passkey / devices more intuitively.”, the Windows team states in their website post.
Currently, the Windows 11 operating system supports passkeys, but until now users found this experience to be difficult with an old-fashioned user interface design. To improve the whole authentication experience, Microsoft decided to create a new sign-in UI design software for passkeys along with a new Microsoft account authentication. But these are not the only improvements as the giant has also made a new API for the passkey and third-party password managers which allows these developers to plug in directly into the new Windows Hello UI design. Also, this user interface design update will allow all Windows 11 users to type the passkeys from their mobile decide to authenticate in apps and websites on their PC.

The giant Microsoft has already started to test the entire user interface design for Windows Hello for the beta channel 23H2 and is set to appear for the dev channel, based on 24H2 soon. All users enrolled in Windows Insider should expect to see this new UI design in the coming months. But anyone who wants to be the first to get these features and UI improvements can turn on the Windows Update from Setting. This does not guarantee that this update will appear immediately, but over time, Microsoft will roll out the user interface design for all users.
