16 family.
iPhone 16e, as it is now called the Apple new product, comes with an updated design compared with its previous version. The most affordable Apple phone has now upgraded the classic Touch ID to a Face ID recognition, but the design is more similar to an iPhone 14 rather than an iPhone 16. We are more influenced to say that Apple's new product, iPhone 16e, represents the successor of the iPhone 14 because it features a very similar design with front-facing cameras for selfies and Face ID that are included in the old notch that is more prominent on the top of the screen.
Available in two colors, Apple's new product has a 6.06-inch OLED display, which makes the iPhone 16e slightly smaller compared with the standard model of the iPhone 16. So, the new iPhone 16e is 0.1 narrower and 0.7 mm shorter compared to the standard model. It should be mentioned that the new iPhone SE 2025 features a customizable Action Button but it doesn’t have the new Camera Control Button.
Regarding charging in this iPhone launch, Apple's new product has swapped the old Lightning port with the new USB-C which became a standard for all phones, especially in the European Union. But, unlike the iPhone 14 and 16, the iPhone 16e doesn't feature fast wireless charging or support for all the MagSafe accessories. Instead, the iPhone SE 2025 supports Qi wireless charging up to 7.5W, which will still charge your phone but at a slower rate.

For the software specs, the iPhone 16e features the newest Apple chip, the A18 chipset which is the same chip that the iPhone 16 has. This type of chip makes the Apple new product powerful enough to support Apple Intelligence. This means that the iPhone 16e is most probably at the same time the most affordable and powerful phone that Apple has ever made because Apple Intelligence is not available for the non-Pro iPhone 15, last year’s model.
With 8GB of RAM, the iPhone 16e is starting now from 128GB of storage up to 512 GB. Also, for pictures and videos, the iPhone 16e features only a single 48-megapixel rear camera, which Apple promises to do a lot more than the base version of the previous models.
Apple's new product will be available for preorders starting on Friday from $599, which is a significant increase compared with the previous iPhone SE 2022 model which was priced at the initial iPhone launch at $429.
