that happened Wednesday, the Industry Minister stated that the two sides came to an agreement.
The ban lasted five months because the Indonesian government decided to block Apple from selling the newest phone release because the government regulations requested that all the smartphones and tablets that are sold in Indonesia must have a minimum of 40% of components that are produced locally.
So, after this drastic decision from the Indonesian government, the company has been determined to invest about $1 billion in the Apple Indonesia factory to produce a minimum of 40% of the Indonesia iPhone components. The factory manufactured different iPhone components as well as other parts for Apple devices.
It should be mentioned that Apple wanted initially to invest about $100 million in the Indonesian factories, but the government declined rapidly claiming insufficient funding for the country to allow the Indonesia iPhone 16 sales again.
According to the country’s Industry Minister, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, the U.S. iPhone maker is currently in the process of obtaining the official local content certificate to be able to sell again on the Indonesian market the iPhone 16 line.
