ow that the Christmas season is approaching and you might be for the best present for your book lovers what could be a better gift than an e-reader that they
can take anywhere? And if you don’t really know what to choose here is a comparison between two of the best readers on the market.
Everybody who is looking for or has an e-reader has heard of Amazon’s Kindle, but have you heard about the Kobo Libra Colour? The Kobo Libra color is a great alternative if you want to stay out of Amazon’s ecosystem. You can get it on sale for $199,99 ($20 off its full price). And you can find it on Amazon or even on Target. Even more so, you can find it available on Rakuten Kobo where if you buy it with a $50 gift card you will receive a $10 credit that can be used to purchase e-books or audiobooks.
Both the Kobo Libra Colour and the Kindle Colorsoft come with the same technology which will make a great company in every environment and light situation, being comfortable for your eyes. Imitating a great experience of reading from paper.
But when it comes to comparing the two color e-readers, we can start by saying that both devices are waterproof, so they can adapt to every environment and tap along with you on vacation even if you are going on the beach.
There are however some subtle differences between the devices such as that the Kindle Colorsoft might appear to be more vibrant and have a more natural look than Kobo’s Color E-reader. So, if you or your book-lover are looking for a more real feel of a book with more vibrant colors, the Kindle Colorsoft might be the choice for you.

Yet, the 7-inch screen offered by the Kobo Libra Color gives you the ability to adjust the light based on your preferences and change the color hue as you wish. The pricing is still an important consideration, as the Libra Color is cheaper and can get you great quality at $80 less than Kidle’s Colorsoft.
Another important feature is that the Kindle Colorsoft offers you the ability to highlight passages from your favorite books when using the stylus support (which you’ll have to purchase separately).
On the other hand, the Libra Color has physical page-turning buttons which can for some make the experience more intuitive. The Libra Color also gives you the ability to “read later” offline articles and has built-in support for Overdrive.
The off part is that the Libra color does not support Kindle library books natively, yet you can convert them and still read them on your Kobo E-reader.
