eta Connect has just started and will happen on September 25 and September 26. The event is a hardware showcase and a key event for developers. At the event,
we are expecting to see Meta’s VR and mixed-reality technology as well as see the latest updates on the metaverse. Artificial intelligence is also expected to be observed and added more to the game.
The event will be taking place today and will start with the Connect Keynote held by Mark Zuckerberg as he develops more about the latest mixed reality updates. Meta will also be announcing their growth toward the next computing platforms and present them and their features. The event starts at 10 am Pacific time and the keynote will be the place where most of the new stuff will be announced.
After, Mark Zuckerberg’s hour-long presentation, next in line will be a developers’ focused speech, which will be led by Meta’s CTO and Reality Labs chief Andrew Bosworth. The event can be watched on Meta’s YouTube channel live as well as on the Meta Connect website . Even more so, the event will be available to watch with VR in Meta Horizon . The ultimate goal of the event is the combination of Meta’s mixed reality and AI ambitions across all product lines.

The new VR set is coming in a very expensive market and is expected to have a price that is hard to compete with. Meta’s history with AR/VR started almost 10 years ago when Facebook, bought Oculus - a VR company, which was not the success they had expected.
However, other companies have as well struggled to find a market for VR headsets, Apple being one of them. The Apple Vision Pro which launched in February comes at a higher price than expected leading to the device not selling well. Even more so, many describe the experience as being lonely.
Smarter Glasses While VR headsets do not have the expected groundbreaking audience, lighter and more sleek smart glasses might just find an audience easier. The new model of smart glasses is expected to have new and updated AI fetures into them in order to help users have a more immersive and flawless experience. It’s also worth mentioning that Meta is already leading the market with Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses.
AI All the Way Meta is also expected to announce some changes when it comes to the use of artificial intelligence. The company is expected to follow the technology wave and offer users access to AI-generated characters and create an easier experience and navigation for anyone.
