his Tuesday the Meta Company has announced that is planning to host for the first time a development conference that is truly dedicated only to generative AI.
Named after the Llama family of generative AI models, the Meta LlamaCon is planned to take place on April 29, 2025. According to the Meta company, the plan is to reveal all the latest artificial intelligence developments that could help all the specialists build impressive tools and AI products.
It should be mentioned that more information and details will be revealed by the Meta company soon. This LlamaCon Meta AI conference will not affect the traditional schedule of the Meta Connect event which is taking place in September.
A few years ago, the Meta group adopted a more “open” approach to artificial intelligence development that could make the creation of broader ecosystems of apps and platforms possible. We don’t know for sure the exact number of apps or services built on the AI technology from Meta, but companies such as DoorDash, AT&T, Accenture, and others are known for using Llama AI.
Even more so, the Meta company claims that its AI model has been downloaded by more companies, at least 25 more well-known organizations such as Nvidia, Databricks, Dell, Snowflake, and even Groq. it is believed that some of these have also developed their own additional tools in order to enhance the Meta Llama features and capabilities.

After the DeepSeek release, Meta with other AI models and tools was caught unprepared, because DeepSeek was considered to be one of the most powerful tools that is powered by artificial intelligence technology. According to the Meta company, the newest model of DeepSeek could outperform the undisclosed new version of Llama, which will be released in the next weeks.
The company stated that is planning to spend about $80 billion on different projects that are directly related to artificial intelligence technology and AI development, including hiring new specialists and building new data centers for AI.
“I think this very well could be the year when Llama and open source become the most advanced and widely used AI models. Our goal for Llama this year is to lead.”, Mark Zuckerberg stated during the Meta Q4 2024 earnings call.
