research for more complex tasks.
Released Sunday, based on the ChatGPT o3 chatbot model, users will be able to give a prompt and ChatGPT will later analyze and combine various online sources like images, text, and articles in order to offer a complex report similar to a true research analyst report.
According to the company in their recent blog post, this OpenAI new tool and its capabilities were designed especially for people working every day in more complex work environments such as finance, science, engineering, and others to streamline the entire research process. The company added that this new AI tool could be very helpful for big purchases that need comprehensive research before making the final decision such as car or furniture purchases.
So, the OpenAI new tool is specially developed for those cases when users don’t look for an instant response but rather a more precise response that has information gathered from different relevant sources.
From Sunday, OpenAI has made available the new Deep Research ChatGPT AI tool for all ChatGPT Pro users, with a limit of 100 inquiries per month. As the company states, for the users that pay for a Plus, Team, or Enterprise subscription, this new AI tool is planned to be soon available.

Because the Plus subscribers will most likely be the next users that will have the “Deep Research” tool, OpenAI stated that the limit for all ChatGPT Pro users will experience a significant increase very soon.
It should be mentioned that because Deep Research represents a geo-targeted launch, the company doesn’t have yet a release timeline for users in the Europen Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland.
If have a ChatGPT Pro subscription, it’s important to know that you need to select the “Deep Research” button in the chatbot interface in order to have the best research responses to your queries. Also, you can attach different files such as spreadsheets or articles, and you must wait between 5 and 30 minutes to get comprehensive answers from ChatGPT. The good news is that you will receive a notification after the entire research is finished so that you can continue with your work while this AI tool combines all the information.
Right now, all the ChatGPT responses are just in text-only form, but according to OpenAI, this capability is planned to be changed soon, in order to offer data visualizations or embedded images. The ChatGPT “Deep Research” tool responses will be “fully documented, with clear citations and a summary of [the] thinking, making it easy to reference and verify the information.”, as OpenAI stated in their blog post.
