penAI company might soon impose an ID verification for all organizations that want to access different artificial intelligence models.
Revealed in OpenAI’s support page, this ID verification process called “Verified Organization” is supposed to provide a much safer environment for developers to have access to the most capable and advanced AI models from OpenAI.
According to the same support page, this process requires a valid ID that is approved by the country’s governments where the OpenAI API is supported. However, it seems that one valid ID will have the option to verify only a single organization in 90 days, and also, only some organizations will be able to enter the ID verification process.
“At OpenAI, we take our responsibility seriously to ensure that AI is both broadly accessible and used safely. Unfortunately, a small minority of developers intentionally use the OpenAI APIs in violation of our usage policies. We’re adding the verification process to mitigate unsafe use of AI while continuing to make advanced models available to the broader developer community.”, OpenAI states in the company’s support page.
So, maybe the OpenAI company is planning to release new AI models that have more functionalities and are more advanced compared with any other artificial intelligence model. This “Verified Organization” requirement is surely added in order to ensure a higher level of security around all OpenAI’s technologies.
It’s true that in the recent period, all the company’s technologies and models have become more and more powerful, and need a system to prevent potential abuses, especially those from exploiting APIs. So, with this new verification system, OpenAI is focused on preventing potential misinformation, violations of data integrity, and controlling the intellectual property.

It should be mentioned that the artificial intelligence company has also made public reports that recorded OpenAI’s efforts in detecting different types of bad-will usage.
The most recent feature that OpenAI released is the Image generation tool, which gained a lot of popularity in a very short period of time. All internet users have tried the new image generation tool from OpenAI, especially for their animation style, which is similar to that one from Studio Ghibli. Only days after its launch, CEO Sam Altman made several announcements about its AI model being overloaded with generation requests.
So, right now ChatGPT’s parent company is very popular among users, so it needs to offer a higher level of security in order to make sure that all artificial intelligence models are used with good intentions.
