unday evening, all TikTok U.S. users received a message around 10:30 p.m. about the TikTok ban, and the app also disappeared quickly from all U.S. app stores.
“Sorry, TikTok isn’t available right now. A law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use TikTok for now.”, the message from the social media app stated.
About 12 hours after the TikTok ban was enforced for all U.S. users, the social media platform started to regain all its online services. Due to the recently elected U.S. President’s point of view, he managed to provide the necessary details and information to restore all TikTok’s services in the U.S. territory.
“In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service. “We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive.”, the company stated.
The social media platform has also provided a statement after many U.S. online users have reported that they were able to access the official website but not the TikTok app itself. So, after the President’s efforts, the social media app started to regain some of the services, but the TikTok app was still unavailable to download in the App Store, Google, and other app stores in the U.S.
Why ban TikTok? As some of you wondered, it’s important to mention that the TikTok ban was planned to be enforced due to a recent law that would require the parent company, ByteDance, to sell the social media app or face the ban TikTok in the U.S territory. The TikTok ban law would also require all U.S. companies to stop supporting the further updates of the social media app.
