he e-commerce platform that has become popular quickly in the U.S. territory is set to be launched soon for European TikTok users. More specifically,
users who have a TikTok account and are located in Italy, Germany, or France, will be able to shop from the TikTok shop platform starting with Monday.
The TikTok store platform has been available for U.K. users since 2021, and no more than two years later, it expanded to include U.S. social media platform users. It should be mentioned that this TikTok store has gained a lot of popularity in recent years, especially during the holiday season, when users are looking to find quicker presents for their friends and family.
"In France, Germany, and Italy, we are already working with merchants to get their products listed on the platform, and TikTok Shop will be available to our TikTok users from next Monday,", the head of operations at TikTok Shop UK, Jan Wilk, stated for Reuters.
The social media platform has been trying for quite some time to introduce more European sellers in this TikTok store because now the majority of the TikTok shop merchants sell currently products that come from China.
According to some sources familiar with the matter, the TikTok shop in France, the giant supermarket chain called Carrefour, is expected to join the shop platform. The same sources state that in Germany, AboutYou, the well-known fast-fashion retailer, along with the cosmetics brand called Cosnova, are about to be included in the TikTok shop platform.

"My own expectation for Europe is to launch with more speed than we did in the UK, because in the UK four years ago this model was very new, we had to do a lot of education, we had to try out a lot of things to get the right fit.", Jan Wilk also stated.
But right now, TikTok’s future remains uncertain, because about a week from now, this social media app is expected to face soon a U.S. ban, if ByteDance, its parent company will not sell it to a non-Chinse buyer. This TikTok ban was initially supposed to come into effect at the beginning of this year, but luckily, after just 12 hours of the TikTok ban, the recently elected president Donald Trump has signed an executive order in which he gave ByteDance a 75-day delay to sell the social media platform.
Stay tuned to find out if TikTok will be banned soon in the U.S. territory!
