f you are wondering whether or not is the watchOS 11 really worth it, well, we are here for you.
First off, if you don’t know what I am talking about, watchOS 11 is the new operating system available for Apple devices. This operating system was developed by Apple Inc. and has already been available since September 16th, 2024.
The new software is available to download on your Apple Watch, as it is compatible with any Apple watch since the Series 6, and for the Series 10, it has already been incorporated. But, this new operating system is expected to do better work than its previous models. So, let’s hear a few of the new features it has to offer.
Sleep apnea notification is one of the biggest updates that comes with watchOS11. The watch will let you know based on your sleeping pattern if you had a good slip and even hear and let you know if signs of moderate or severe sleep apnea are present.
But, tracking your sleep quality is not the only plus when it comes to the new watchOS, as you can finally pause your activity rings, a feature that has been long awaited. Activity rings can be paused in case you are sick, or do not really feel like exercising. You are now able to pause them for a day, a week, or even a month.
And, you will now be able to change the goals of each ring. So, let’s say you want a bigger exercise ring and smaller ones for moving or standing. You now have the ability to do them, as well as adjust them for individual days of the week.

WatchOS 11 also adds Live Activities to the capabilities as well as widgets and Smart Stack which are based on time, location, and date. So, if the rain is about to start, chances are you will first see your watch and be prepared for the specific weather. Only, think about the times when you forgot your umbrella.
The widget can also come in handy when you are waiting for your Uber to arrive. Or when you are out and want to see what music is playing, the Shazam popup can remind you that it got you. Even more so, if you are vacationing or traveling abroad the translate app will appear as a popup and help you faster.
Getting indications from maps or even scrolling through apps became easier with the integration of double tap for scrolling. And even have the ability to hold onto the Action button and change its actions.
And when it comes to AI, although Apple Intelligence is not integrated into WachOS11, the photo watch face allows you to navigate “intelligent photo discovery” which uses machine learning to identify the best photos and facial expressions suited for a watch face.
So, with this update wachOS 11 makes a better experience for you and will make your watch feel more intuitive.
