The Grok Artificial Intelligence model can generate images on the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, X, and it’s only available to Premium and Premium+ users.
According to xAI, both versions of the Grok are available to interact with for the X users in a beta version.
In a blog post about Grok-2, we see that they are excited to release this new generative AI model, with new and improved features that have many capabilities.
“We are excited to release an early preview of Grok-2, a significant step forward from our previous model Grok-1.5, featuring frontier capabilities in chat, coding, and reasoning. At the same time, we are introducing Grok-2 mini, a small but capable sibling of Grok-2. An early version of Grok-2 has been tested on the LMSYS leaderboard under the name “sus-column-r”.
Later this month, the xAi company is planning to make the Grok-2 and Grok-2 mini models available for developers only through Elon Musk’s enterprise API.

The early images created by users through Grok’s image generation feature have no restrictions and users are taking advantage of this because they are making some images with political figures. Because now, in the U.S. the presidential election is about to come, we think that most likely, the new Grok-2 model will have to review its regulations to stop spreading these fake images.
With a generative AI model that doesn’t have any regulations and limits, this could easily become an instrument to spread misinformation on X or other social media platforms. This tool can become very powerful and can cause some harm to the many political figures in the U.S.
It’s not yet clear if the images created by users on the Grok model are embedded with any metadata suggesting that they are generated with Artificial Intelligence.
According to Techcrunch, they asked X about the limitless capabilities and how they plan to restrict these rules but they received no response yet. They don’t have high expectations for a fast response because, since Elon Musk’s takeover, the company has responded rarely to any questions or complaints.
xAI stated that the company is planning to position the Grok models in AI-driven features on X with some improvements in the search capabilities, reply functions, and post analytics. This means that the platform owned by Elon Musk could soon release replies powered by Artificial Intelligence.
For now, we are waiting to hear back a response from xAI about the image regulations and we are excited to see more features that are about to come on the Grok-2 and Grok-2 mini models.
