Yes, it’s a mad world again! Microsoft announced the first title in the Gears series since 2019. While we don’t have a release date yet, we know that it’s being built using Unreal Engine 5.
The trailer evokes the nostalgia of the classic commercials from the original Gears Series, “Mad World”. But it’s incredibly fitting as the Gears of War: E-Day is set 14 years prior to the first game and “tells the story of the first Locust emergence on Sera.” Plus, it also features Marcus Fenix, and it’s promoted as an origin story.

During the event, the team behind the game, Asobo, showed off these new features, including commercial flights, air ambulances, and even flying advertisements. They have also added many new planes so that we can join search and rescue missions, as well as other fun options like air racing and skydiving.

This game takes us to a medieval-like era, where the slayers battle enemies in a fantasy setting. Plus, we can also ride on a cyberpunk dragon!
The game is set to launch in 2025 and will be available on Xbox (including Game Pass), PS5, and PC.
