Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and Avowed, along with the gameplay about Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, were the talk of the event; we also got so many other announcements that took us by surprise. The Xbox Games Showcase 2024 included the first look at Doom:The Dark Ages, Gears of War: E-Day, Perfect Dark reboot, and the magical South of Midnight.
The new version of the Xbox Series X is finally here, and it’s white! While the inside of the console is identical to the original Xbox Series X and has the same performance rate, this new version will be completely all-digital and won’t include a disc drive. The new Xbox model comes with 1TB storage for $449.99.
Roanna Sones, the Xbox Hardware Chief, stated, “This new special edition Xbox Series X delivers the same speed, performance and features of Xbox Series X, but with twice the storage and a unique design.”
Yes, it’s a mad world again! Microsoft announced the first title in the Gears series since 2019. While we don’t have a release date yet, we know that it’s being built using Unreal Engine 5.
The trailer evokes the nostalgia of the classic commercials from the original Gears Series, “Mad World”. But it’s incredibly fitting as the Gears of War: E-Day is set 14 years prior to the first game and “tells the story of the first Locust emergence on Sera.” Plus, it also features Marcus Fenix, and it’s promoted as an origin story.
At the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, the release of the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 release was also announced, arriving on PC and Xbox on November 12th. This installment will include new features, including trips with hot air balloons, aerial firefighting, and so much more.
During the event, the team behind the game, Asobo, showed off these new features, including commercial flights, air ambulances, and even flying advertisements. They have also added many new planes so that we can join search and rescue missions, as well as other fun options like air racing and skydiving.
Yes, the rumors are true – the new version of Doom is set in a dark fantasy world. The other days, id Software officially revealed the latest entry in the demonic shooter series – Doom: The Dark Ages. This game takes us to a medieval-like era, where the slayers battle enemies in a fantasy setting. Plus, we can also ride on a cyberpunk dragon!
The game is set to launch in 2025 and will be available on Xbox (including Game Pass), PS5, and PC.
