aidu search engine has just launched two new artificial intelligence models, that represent an improved version of the Ernie AI model. Called Ernie 4.5 and
Ernie X1, these two AI Baidu AI models, there are considered to have impressive capabilities and features, that could outperform the already existing artificial intelligence models.
Ernie X1 model is expected to deliver amazing performances, that could easily surpass the recently released DeepSeek’s models, due to deep thinking capabilities.
"ERNIE X1 delivers performance on par with DeepSeek R1 at only half the price. Has stronger understanding, planning, reflection, and evolution capabilities,", the Chinese company, Baidu stated about its new Ernie AI X1 model.
According to the company’s statement, both new Baidu Chat models feature multimodal capabilities that allow them to process different videos, images, or audio besides text understanding.
Even more so the Baidu Ernie AI 4.5 features "excellent multimodal understanding ability. It has more advanced language ability, and its understanding, generation, logic, and memory abilities are comprehensively improved."

The Chinese Baidu AI cloud search engine also stated that using the high EQ feature, both Ernie X1 and Ernie 4.5 artificial intelligence models, are capable of understanding various network memes and satire, in order to give a relevant answer to them.
It should be mentioned that before the recent DeepSeep popularity, Baidu represented the first Chinese competitor of ChatGPT developed by OpenAI. However, due to this strong competition in the artificial intelligence field, Baidu experienced issues with the widespread adoption of its Baidu chat.
As DeepSeek launched, the rivalry between AI models became more and more intense, because the U.S. AI companies were trying to understand how Chinese companies, especially DeepSeek, managed to create and release such a high-performing AI model with a much lower cost. DeepSeek models successfully impressed all its users.
Currently, we just know a few capabilities and features, but recordings of performances have not been made public yet. We must wait and see further performance recordings, and comparisons between Baidu Chat AI and other existing artificial intelligence models.
