record for electric vehicles. Lucid Motors delivered 2,394 EVs by the end of June, hitting a milestone despite the struggle to get on board with the fast-paced EV industry.
Pollution got to a point at which humanity needs to set its priorities straight. The average gasoline or diesel-burning vehicle gas emissions are lowered by half using green technology instead. Even in a soiled power supply system, your EV would produce far less global warming pollution compared to its gas-powered equivalent.
For sure is celebratory, as the last record set was in March, when Lucid Motors sold 1,967 of its luxury sedans. To revitalize sales following a challenging year, the Saudi-supported and California-based company, Lucid Motors, has decided to significantly lower the prices of its most affordable electric cars.
The base model Lucid Air Pure, with rear-wheel drive, will now be available at a starting price of $69,900, down from $77,400. Additionally, the high-performance Lucid Air Touring model, which offers all-wheel drive and approximately 50% more horsepower, will now be priced at $77,900, reduced from $85,900, aiming to attract more potential buyers.
“For the first time, I feel we’re on the cusp of escape velocity. We have sales momentum, a compounding efficiency advantage, [and] unprecedented interest from consumers and corporate partners,” said in May Peter Rawlinson, the CEO of Lucid Motor about the financial situation.
Even more so, Lucid Motors is aiming to reach even more EV enthusiasts with the release of its Gravity SUV at the end of the year. Lucid Motor is aiming to break into the EV market sector with this electric vehicle, directly competing with BMW and Rivian SUVs.
The Saudi-backed company’s sales growth follows closely quarterly records from enterprises like Rivian and Tesla, which were released last week. Rivian’s sales are steady compared to the first quarter and in all years of activity. Tesla’s sales improved from the first quarter, but last year was by far a better one for the EV company. The Toyota Group shipped 24,266 plug-in electric cars, while Lexus almost doubled to 6,677.
