Microsoft’s new product has the power to manage and analyze the decisions that AI software makes and provide safe measures over AI-driven processes. However, after a thorough investigation, Microsoft has decided to take more time to analyze the product. The tech company wishes to deliver a product that ensures the security and safe system integrity that it has been promised.
“Following receiving feedback on Recall from our Windows Insider Community, as we typically do, we plan to make Recall (preview) available for all Copilot+ PCs coming soon. We are adjusting the release model for Recall to leverage the expertise of the Windows Insider community to ensure the experience meets our high standards for quality and security,” said Microsoft in a blog post.
The new AI safety tool will be available as a preview only to the Windows Insider Program when their new computer is released on June 18th. Microsoft also explains its decision as “This decision is rooted in our commitment to providing a trusted, secure and robust experience for all customers”.
Microsoft's latest update and product was introduced for the first time on May 20th, when they explained the product as being an AI program. Recall has the power to regularly take screenshots and create a history activity of the AI tools that are used. With Recall, users will be able to see their history and act based on their previous actions.
Even more so, only shortly after the announcement of the software, experts from the field expressed numerous concerns regarding the safety of the program. Their concerns talked about the potential of hackers to retrieve data and information from users without their knowledge.
As a response, Microsoft stated that its Recall program could be turned off, and only users would have the power to open the software. New updates from Microsoft are expected in response to the delay.
