Nvidia's future AI chip. The impediment could impact important clients like Meta Platforms, Alphabet’s Google and Microsoft. Some sources mentioned that these huge companies have ordered AI chips valued at tens of billions of dollars.
The AI chip producer company revealed in March its Blackwell AI chip line, following its former star AI chip, the Grace Hopper Superchip, which was created to enhance generative AI applications.
On the other hand, the AI chip maker reported that the Brroad Blackwell tests have started, and the manufacturer is on track to ramp in 2H and the company doesn’t want to answer the rumors.
A Nvidia representative, Scott Wainner, declared in an X post: “As we’ve stated before, Hopper demand is very strong, broad Blackwell sampling has started, and production is on track to ramp in the second half. Beyond that, we don’t comment on rumors.”
Meta and Google haven’t made any declarations yet, while a Microsoft spokesperson claimed there’s nothing more to add.
Last week, The AI chip producer announced Microsoft and other major companies that provide cloud services, about the postponed production of its high-quality AI chip, the Blackwell series.

Last week's edition of SIGGRAPH 2024, brought on stage the two CEOs of Meta and Nvidia. Jensen Huang and Mark Zuckerberg were involved in a spirited debate about the
upcoming innovations of artificial intelligence. At the end of the discussion, the two directors swapped their personalized jackets, remaining of an earlier well-known meme from the year.
Nvidia’s CEO declared that his jacket was a gift from his wife to commemorate his presence and role at the SIGGRAPH 2024 edition, while Zuckerberg’s coat was described as black and leather and shearling.
