lon Musk social media platform X has been available again since Tuesday morning after a worldwide outage faced during the previous hours. The outage lasted under
an hour, as reported by Downdetector.com, an outage trailing website.
The Downdetector platform registers outages by collecting status information from various sources involving users. It revealed approximately 500 reports of outages in the U.S. until 11:46 P.M. on the 27th of August.
Downdetector showed that the outage came to a peak around 9 A.M. on August 28th morning, involving approximately 1000 reports on the tracking website. According to the same platform, around 71% of X app Users and 27% of desktop users declared that were affected by the X social media outage. Reports claim that the problems have begun nearby 8:30 A.M. today, reaching its top around 9 A.M.
The reports of outages in Canada and the U.K. lower under 100, beginning from over 3.300 in Canada and 1.6000 in the U.K. as of 11:20 P.M.
Although the precise reason behind the outage is not known until now, users said they were not able to access Elon Musk social media platform X, and on the screen appeared the typical message: “Something went wrong. Try again.”
As expected, the internet was inundated with memes while the social media platform was down. A person stated: “Me checking Twitter search to see whether Twitter is down:”. Another said: “People coming out of their house to confirm did the world end after Twitter/X was down”. In May, Elon Musk's social media platform X completely transformed into X.com, and its logo and branding were also revised.

X has been prone to tech outages and glitches since its rebranding and management under Elon Musk. X has faced several controversial situations this year. One of the most significant is the intended lawsuit by former CNN star Don Lemon.
