The company announced that it will feature the new look of Super Nintendo World directly on Livestream. The stream will focus solely on the theme park, as “no game information will be featured.” So, we should not expect any news regarding the next generation of the Switch 2 console.
Donkey Kong Country is set to expand its size by up to 70%, with new attractions for kids and families. Right now, the Nintendo World Japan includes the Yoshy Adventure and the Mario Kart: Kuppa’s Challenge roller coaster.
Nintendo stated earlier this year that the new Donkey Kong Country area will feature “jaw-dropping maneuvers” with “ getting blasted out of a barrel, seemingly jumping over gaps as they speed along a rickety track, and so much more.”
The expansion of Donkey Kong Country was first set to open in the spring of 2024. However, Nintendo Universal Osaka announced that it would delay the opening until “late 2024.”
The revamped theme area will include a first-of-its-kind roller coaster – Mine Cart Madness, and real-life versions of the Donkey Konga rhythm game. You will also be able to grab a photo with the leader of the bunch, DK, explore the Golden Temple, and see a lot of banana-flavored desserts.
To enter the new Donkey Kong Country area, you will have to go through the Super Nintendo World, where you will see a tunnel made of rocks. The closer you get, the more you will hear the iconic music of DK, which will be the outdoor area with the famous Tree House, the Golden Temple steam, and even the animatronic Cranky Kong.
Nintendo Universal Osaka created the new park attraction as closely related to the game as possible. Using the NFC bracelet, you can find (and even collect) giant letters that were previously hidden in the park.
The Donkey Kong expansion was first announced in 2021. At the same time, the company has also stated that the attractions in Nintendo Universal Osaka and Los Angeles will be included in the Super Nintendo World Orlando – which is set to launch in 2025.
The expansion of Super Nintendo World is part of the company’s plan to become a full entertainment company, not just a gaming one. The latest Nintendo news is followed by so many other surprises from the company, including the launch of their alarm clock – Alarmo.
