Before launching this official Tencent AI T1 model, the company released in the past just its preview version using various platforms and also on Tencent’s AI assistant called Yuanbao. As Tencent AI stated in their WeChat statement, the T1 reasoning model will use the Turbo S simple language model that was released last month. According to the statement, this language model can process the user’s queries much faster compared with the R1 artificial intelligence model from DeepSeek.
On the public benchmarks including AIME, Zebra Logic, or CEval, the Tencent AI T1 reasoning model is considered to have an excellent performance in both Chinese and also in English reasoning.
Even more so, the Tencent company has revealed in their WeChat post a chart that compared the T1 reasoning model with R1 from DeepSeek. As the chart reports, Tencent’s artificial intelligence model managed to outperform DeepSeek’s model on various reasoning and knowledge benchmarks.
In order to increase all AI investments, Tencent announced last Tuesday that is planning to boost in 2025 the capital expenses, in order to maintain and even enhance its influence over the artificial intelligence market.
It remains to be seen what further charts are about to be revealed, and how the T1 reasoning model performs compared with its AI rivals from other companies.
