he giant Google has secretly revealed the pricing plans for its new AI video generator, Veo 2, which was released in December last year by Google’s DeepMind.
As stated in the official pricing plans page of Google Veo 2, the recently released AI video creator will require users to pay $0.50 cents for every second of generated video. If we make an estimation, it is believed that Google Veo 2 will cost $30 per minute and $1,800 per hour of video-generated content.
In response to this apparently expensive Google Veo 2 pricing plan, Jon Barron, the researcher from Google Deepmind, has compared the AI video generator pricing with the “Avengers: Endgame”, which represents a blockbuster Marvel movie. When compared, the Avengers movie had a production cost of $365 million which is divided at $32,000 per second. This way, the new pricing plans for Veo 2 don’t seem that big anymore, considering what advanced capabilities and features the AI video creator has.
In the same area, we can compare the Sora AI video generator, launched by OpenAI. This AI video creator is able to provide for its users generated video content and requires users to pay $200/ per month for a ChatGPT Pro subscription. In this pricing plan, users are able to use both, ChatGPT and Sora capabilities. Currently, the OpenAI Sora video generator model can generate a 20-second clip at a 1080p resolution and gives a quick result without much effort.
On the other hand, the Google Veo 2 AI video creator, available in VideoFX, is able to provide its users more control over all the options for effects, genres, or lenses, which is a perfect feature for those who are looking for more customization on AI video content.

However it should be mentioned that users will not always use every second of the Veo 2-generated content they paid for, and Google Veo is not set to produce a three-hour-long movie similar to Avengers in the near future. But it seems that Jon Barron's correlation has to purpose of emphasizing the AI video creator's capabilities to generate content of at least two minutes long.
The VideoFX tool, which includes also the Veo 2 AI video creator, has more advanced features than the majority of the AI video generators in the industry. Even though it seems an expensive pricing plan for video content, Google is surely providing high-quality content for all users.
Stay tuned for more Google updates!
