will create the best experience for its users at all times.
Even though Nintendo has not announced its Switch successor yet, one thing is for certain – you will be able to play current Switch games and you will have carryover for the Nintendo Switch Online Services as well as the account.
This news is a result of Nintendo’s midyear briefing; further details will be provided “at a later date.”. At the briefing, Nintendo also talked about the second quarter financial results as well as corporate management policy, and they mentioned that they had sold 4.72 million units in the last three months. The number also marked a fall in sales by 31% compared with a similar period the previous year. Yet, even though the numbers have dropped eight years after the launch, compared with the previous console they are still over it.
Those results add up to 146 million Switch units that have been sold, also breaking a new record for software sales on a Nintendo platform that ended up with 1.3 billion units sold as of September 30th, 2024. Nintendo also mentioned that Switch Online subscriptions had a drop of about 34 million members.
Simultaneously, the number of users who are opting for the more expensive subscription that includes the Expansion Pack library of games is continually increasing. In the presentation, they mentioned, “More software has been played on Nintendo Switch than on any other Nintendo hardware.”.

The new Nintendo is still scheduled to be launched during this fiscal year, which lasts till March 2025, without interfering with Nintendo’s already existing connection that has over 100 million players.
