ccording to a company’s spokesperson, OpenAI, the ChatGPT3, and GPT 4 developer company have reached recently more than 400 weekly active users,
a fact that is able to accentuate the rapid growth in popularity of various artificial intelligence tools.
Back in December, OpenAI, which Microsoft supports, had roughly 300 million active users weekly. Also, compared with September last year, when OpenAI had about 1 million paying business users, now, in February this year, the Open AI chatbot company has declared that the number of paying business users has surpassed 2 million.
But, the OpenAI chatbot company chose not to disclose the number of single paid customers that have a ChatGPT Plus or ChatGPT Pro subscription.
We must admit that these OpenAI records come just a short time after DeepSeek, the potential industry competitor was launched. DeepSeek has launched recently a powerful AI model, a reasoning model, and also an AI assistant app. At first glance, all specialists and technology enthusiasts were convinced that this new artificial intelligence tool is more powerful than any AI model launched before.
It’s true that DeepSeek managed to surpass the majority of AI models in recent tests, but various countries decided to ban DeepSeek in all the governmental sectors along with companies that chose to exclude the Chinese AI model due to its uncertain regulations. Various governments and companies have concerns about DeepSeek’s personal data policies and believe that it uses various information to train the artificial intelligence model.

After the official launch of the Chinese DeepSeek AI model, some rumors have appeared that this Chinese AI model has been trained on Nvidia H800 chips. Experts and tech specialists were wondering how DeepSeek managed to obtain the H800 chips from Nvidia as the Washington government has banned the exports to China.
Even after this DeepSeek significant popularity, the OpenAI chatbot announced that the developer traffic for the reasoning models has doubled in the past six months, and at the same time, the OpenAI o3 model has experienced an increase since the recent launch in January.
Stay tuned for more OpenAI updates!
