esterday a group seems to have published on the AI development platform called Hugging Face, an unknown project that is similar and connected with
the Sora API from OpenAI. Even though it has not yet been released, users were able to use the authentication tokens and created a frontend to allow users to generate different videos with the Sora AI technology.
In the new front created by this unknown group, any user is able to generate with a short text description various videos of up to 10 seconds long with 1080p resolution. It’s important to mention that many users have tried to generate videos with Sora AI but not everybody succeeded because the description must be short and simple rather than a long and complex one.
But those who managed to generate 10 seconds videos, posted on X platform about it.
Also, the groups revealed that after 3 hours of availability, The OpenAI unreleased tool powered by artificial intelligence was shut down and artists were unable to access it anymore.
The real question is why the unknown groups leaked the OpenAI Sora AI. It seems that OpenAI had been pressuring Sora’s early testers as well as creative partners to promote a positive narrative about the Sora AI tool while the company neglected to provide compensation for their work and contributions.
“Hundreds of artists provide unpaid labor through bug testing, feedback and experimental work for the [Sora early access] program for a $150B valued [sic] company. This early access program appears to be less about creative expression and critique, and more about PR and advertisement.”, the group stated in a post that was attached to the frontend.

It should be mentioned that the group refused to identify its members, but some of them have been because of the reposts on Hugging Face.
Even more so, the group argues that OpenAI is trying to misrepresent Sora AI’s functionalities by keeping it with restrictive early access for users. So according to them, the AI tool output must be approved by OpenAI in order to be shared publicly, and seems that only a few artists and creators in the program will be able to publish their videos that are generated with the Sora AI technology.
In response, OpenAI’s spokesperson stated that the Sora AI generative content tool will remain for now in a “research preview” because the company is “working to balance creativity with robust safety measures for broader use.”
Also, the spokesperson stated that artists should use the Sora AI tool responsibly, and they just avoid the disclosure of confidential data and information while the OpenAI tool is still in the development stage.
Stay tuned for more updates!
