Samsung is completing the Samsung Galaxy universe with the Samsung ring. This offers a complete user experience, by being the perfect accessory for the other products from the Galaxy category.
This is a step forward for the tech giant. A step that their competitor –Apple has not reached yet. However, the smart ring is not new in the tech world. One of the most known smart rings is the Oura Ring.
Samsung Galaxy Ring is a unisex smart ring made of titanium that is still slim, light, and comfortable. The smart ring comes in three color variations –black, silver, and gold. This product is also waterproof. This makes it even easier to use and more convenient. The ring is 7 mm wide and 2.5 mm thick.
Samsung offers the ring in sizes 5 through 13. For more accurate sizing, because it is not a normal ring, the company provides a Sizing Kit for $10. The Sizing Kit is sent to the user's house and then the ordering of the ring can be completed. The charge is added to the cost of the ring.
The Samsung ring collects data through the three sensors incorporated. Then transfer them to the Samsung Health app for evaluation. The ring can track the user's heart rate, sleep, skin temperature, steps and so much more.
The Samsung smart ring works best with a Samsung device, but it can also work with an Android phone. The requirements are Android 11 or higher and at least 1.5GB to download the Samsung Health App. It was originally rumored that the Samsung Galaxy Ring would be compatible only with the Galaxy smartphones. That is not the case anymore.
Any Android user can use the Samsung ring with some limitations. Features, like Find My Ring, Energy Score, and Galaxy AI, are available only on Samsung devices. The Galaxy AI is the most interesting feature. It analyzes the user’s data and gives personalized health and sleep tips. Samsung updated the website with this information. IOS users will not be able to use the Samsung smart ring.
The Samsung Galaxy Ring is made to be paired with other Samsung products. The smart ring can be used on its own for basic health tracking. But for the most accurate results, it should be paired with the Samsung Galaxy Watch. This also increases the battery life. The smart ring is not designed to replace the smartwatch, but more as an extension for it.
Unlike the Oura Ring, the Samsung smart ring can be used without a subscription. It is a one-time $399.99 purchase.
The Samsung ring has a long battery life. One charge of the ring can last up to 7 days. The smart ring comes with a charging case, like the wireless buds. This makes charging easier and prevents the loss of the ring. Moreover, the charging case offers the possibility of charging the smart ring on the go. The charging case holds up to 1.5 times the charge, which means at least 10 days of usage.
