app has decided to launch a new set of controls that aims to help podcasters have better management over the podcast’s comments.
When this feature was first introduced, the podcast owners had to manually review all the comments and publish them to be visible to other users. After this music app update, the platform has now an auto-moderation tool that automatically filters sensitive and inappropriate comments and publishes only those that comply with the standards.
The auto-moderation tool has 3 levels of intensity, which can filter the comments according to the various Spotify app standards. When is set to the “Standard” level, this tool will not make public the comments that could potentially include sensitive or inappropriate information, but it will redirect them to the podcasters to be reviewed.
For the “High” level, the auto-moderation tool will keep all the comments on the video until the podcaster reviews them on its own. The last setting is the “Low” one which will post all the comments unless they are violating Spotify’s rules.
Besides this, the podcast creators can also add some words, and phrases of various emojis to a blocklist that will automatically transfer all the comments that include these phrases in the review list.
The Spotify music app states that all podcast creators can turn off the comments on any podcast episode they want, and also confirms that additional languages will be available soon for this feature because currently is available only in the English language.
“For now, as we continue to test and as we develop our automatic detection systems to support more languages, all non-English comments will need to continue to be reviewed and approved in Spotify for Podcasters, but we plan to expand to more languages soon,”, Spotify music app said.
The Music App claims that its users have posted until now almost 2.5 million comments on 650,000 podcast episodes since its launching in July this year. Also, almost 44% of the comments are getting a reply comment or a like from the podcast creators.
Recently, the Spotify app has added support for the Q&A, polls, and video podcasts to make the podcasts more engaging for its users.
We think that this new tool for podcasts is the perfect addition to creating some rules and regulations while keeping the episodes engaging for listeners. Stay tuned for more updates!
